The Cleveland Buddhist Temple is a non-profit organization whose primary purpose is to spread the Buddha-Dharma and the understanding of the Nembutsu teaching. Our temple relies on monetary gifts to operate and a day to day basis. We operate through membership pledges, donations, and fundraisers. Members also donate on memorial days of their loved ones, special services and events.
Although our public services are open to all without charge, the chief benefit of membership is having and supporting a spiritual home. As a member, you are anchored in a Buddhist community with a long history, one that teaches a path to Enlightenment open to all without exception.
Membership is required for certain special events such as Kieshiki (Buddhist name-giving confirmation ceremony), voting in the annual general meeting, Wheel of Dharma subscription, and the like. Members will receive invitations to participate in our new online Dharma sessions (which are in the planning stage).
A portion of your membership dues also goes to support our national organization, the Buddhist Churches of America (BCA). Additional benefits of supporting the temple are our monthly classes, meditation sessions, and our electronic newsletter.
Please download the form and mail it in with your check. There are two categories:
